Safety Training 9:15am - 9:30am Competitors who do not possess a firearms licence must attend the Club Safety Training session Competitors who require Safety Training and arrive after 9:15am will not be allowed to compete. Competition 9:30am - Noon Lunch and Awards to follow The club provides the 22 caliber rifles and ammunition to shoot at " diamond shaped" targets. When hit, the targets flip up out of view. Hit the most targets and win a prize. The cost of this event is $15 and includes lunch. Spectators are welcome and they can purchase lunch if they wish. There are 4 shooting positions with a rifle at each position. Competitors will be assigned to a random shooting position, and will rotate through the positions as the competition progresses. Elimination of the low scores will begin after everyone has shot at least 2 times. The competition continues until there is a clear winner. Typically it takes about 5 - 7 rounds to establish the winners. The rules are simple. Each contestant gets 5 rounds of ammunition to shoot at the 4 small diamonds and the 1 large diamond. For each one of the small diamonds that you hit and flip out of sight, you score 1 point. To score a total of 5 points you must first hit all 4 diamonds and then hit the large diamond to reset the target. If you hit the large diamond by mistake before you hit the other 4, the target will reset and you will start at zero for that round. Competitors that have not shot a rifle will have an opportunity to load and fire a rifle before the competition starts. This will allow them to become familiar with the guns, shooting distance and target. If we have a large turn-out, we will break for lunch after which we will finish the competition.
