Rifle Shoot July 17th 9:30am - 1:00pm Registration 9:30am - 9:45am Competitors 17 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult. Competitors arriving after Registration is closed will not be allowed to compete. Orientation and Practice 9:45am - 10:00am Competition 10:00am - Noon Lunch and Awards to follow The club provides the 22 calibre rifles and ammunition to shoot at "rubber ducky" targets. Hit the most ducks, win a prize. The cost of this event is $15 and includes lunch. Spectators are welcome and they can purchase lunch if they wish. This competition is like the arcade target shooting at the CNE or some other rural fairs in years gone by. We have modified the setup to accommodate paper targets. The ducks don't move left to right and the ducks don't fall down when hit. The rules are simple. Each contestant gets 5 rounds of ammunition to shoot at the target showing 5 rubber ducky images. Here is the target that will be used: Click on the image to enlarge Your mission is to hit each of the five rubber ducky images once. Each hit scores 1 point. Remember you can only count one hit for each ducky because if it was a real arcade the ducky would fall over after it was hit and you would not get another chance to hit it. We start by letting those competitors that are unfamiliar with the rifles have the opportunity to load and fire the rifles before the competition starts. This will allow them to become familiar with the guns, shooting distance and target. There are 4 shooting positions with a rifle at each position. The rifles are similar but not all exactly the same. Competitors will not have a choice as to which rifle they use but will be assigned to a random shooting position, that will change, as the competition progresses. The competition continues until there is a clear winner. Typically it takes about 5 - 7 rounds to establish the winners. If we have a terrific turn-out, be prepared that this event could last well into the lunch hour.
